Have you ever wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows? Then freediving is for you! With freediving, you can experience aquatic life closer than you ever have before and move around underwater without the bulkiness of scuba equipment. In the freediving class, you will learn how you can comfortably go underwater and move around with freediving equipment.
There are 3 levels of freediving: Freediver, Advanced Freediver and Master Freediver. Each of these certifications consist of an eLearning, classroom, confined diving (pool), and open water diving portion.
*You must be at least 15 years old to enroll in the PADI Freediver course.
Younger than 15? Check out the snorkeling course for a fun alternative!
eLearning and Classroom: In the eLearning portion of the course, you go through an independent online knowledge development at your own pace, consisting of videos relating to freediving. After completion of this portion, you will receive an eRecord that you will need to print out and bring to class. The classroom portion will cover any questions that you may still have about freediving as well practice some of the techniques we will be using in the pool.
Confined Water: After completing the online portion and classroom, there is a confined water portion where you will learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea. The goals for this is to get a static apnea of 90 seconds and a dynamic apnea of 25 meters (80 feet). These skills are practiced in our on-site, heated pool.
Open Water: In this portion of the course, you will practice free immersion and constant weight weight freediving as well as proper buddy procedures. The goals for this portion are to constant weight freedive to 10 meters (30 feet).
